Ross and Kentfield Homes

The historic towns of Kentfield and Ross were once part of the huge Spanish Rancho known as the Punta De Quentin. The rancho began at San Quentin (on the east) and shared San Rafael’s southern border. The land holding included today's Greenbrae, Kentfield, Ross and much of San Anselmo, all a part of Ross Valley. In Kentfield, one of the smallest of the towns in Marin-- it is still unincorporated-- you find yourself in the midst of homes of varying sizes and ages. Many places go back to the 1920s and even earlier when Kentfield creek was a resort area and a favorite haunt of wealthy San Franciscans. The neighborhood of Kent Woodlands is known for its lush vegetation due to the microclimate receiving an average of 45 inches of rain each year. There are several public and private award-winning schools.
In Ross, you will find many larger estates with exquisite views of the wooded hillside of Mt. Tam. In addition, there is easy access to Phoenix Lake, one of the series of lakes that make up Marin’s water supply, along with access to many hiking trails. Ross Valley extends no more than ten to fifteen miles and includes other small Marin towns with homes on hillsides with views of the rolling hills. This is a marvelously beautiful part of Marin County, itself a glorious place to live.
